Dr Volker Triebel joins Chambers as an international arbitrator

We are very pleased to welcome Volker Triebel, who joined Crown Office Chambers as an Associate Member on 1 July 2008. Volker is a dual qualified German and English lawyer, being both a Rechtsanwalt and an English barrister (including a three month pupillage at One Essex Court). In addition to his fluent command of German and English, he also speaks Russian. Until recently he was a partner with Lovells, practising as a commercial lawyer from the firm's office in Düsseldorf.

He has led more than 100 corporate transactions and been involved in more than 120 arbitration cases, both as counsel and arbitrator, most of them with an international aspect. From 1985 until 1990 he was the German representative of the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris.

He will be practising as an international arbitrator.
