Practice Overview

Steven was successful in the most recent round of QC appointments and took silk in February 2017.

While a Junior, Steven was consistently recognised in the independent directories as one of the leading barristers in his main practice areas of personal injuries and industrial disease work, within which he also regularly deals with aspects of procedure and costs and appears at inquests. His practice extends to associated insurance, professional negligence and clinical negligence work.

Steven is a strong and experienced trial advocate and regularly deals with liability and quantum aspects of cases of the highest value in court and in settlement meetings and he is often chosen for complex or sensitive cases. His current cases include head injuries, paraplegic and other serious spinal injury cases, amputations and fatal claims. In disease work he advises and represents claimants and defendants in mesothelioma and other asbestos claims. He is one of the authors of the Judicial College Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages in Personal Injury Cases and is the secretary of the Personal Injuries Bar Association.
